EigenLayer
Hackathon
By Encode Club
A seven-week event focused on building EigenLayer primitives, with prizes funded by the rewards of Encode's operator.
Check out the hackathon summary and the winners here.
EigenLayer is a protocol built on Ethereum that introduces restaking, a new primitive in cryptoeconomic security. This primitive enables the reuse of ETH on the consensus layer.
Build on EigenLayer.
Find a team, complete challenges and win prizes.
Become a part of the story
Encode Club is running an operator for the EigenLayer ecosystem to directly fund the first dedicated EigenLayer hackathon and kickstart a series of developer events around re-staking, AVSs and EigenDA.
By restaking to our operator, you will help restake into the future of community building on EigenLayer.
Giving back to the community
The first EigenLayer dedicated hackathon is launching in May 2024. This 7-week online event will be free and open to all developers around the world. Through workshops, AMAs and prizes, we are enabling developers to build their own use cases around the Eigenlayer and re-staking narrative.
Hackathon Prizes and Bounties
🌟 Hackathon prizes will be funded by the rewards of Encode's operator. The more you support the operator, the more goes to funding the incentives for hackers.
Overall Bounty
-
🛠️ Build on EigenLayer and its primitives. Think re-staking, AVSs and EigenDA - the opportunities are endless!
The overall winners will receive top prizes funded from Encode’s EigenLayer operator—stay tuned for the amounts!

Task:
• Use cases for possible/future TEE AVS on EigenLayer beyond Multi-Prover AVS OR
• Developer tooling or contributions that support the development and adoption of Multi-Prover AVS
Guidelines:
• Only possible with TEEs
Make it clear why the project is building with TEEs on EigenLayer. How are TEEs meaningful in achieving goals in ways that are not possible with other methods?
• Proof-of-Concept
We consider the merits of the application based on the clarity and structure of the proposal, as well as its technical feasibility.
• Open-Source
Projects should benefit the ecosystem at large. While not all part of the project needs to be open-source, the usable parts should be available to all.
Prize:$5000

This challenge invites participants to create applications that utilize EigenLayer’s extensive features, including but not limited to restaking. Applications may include new virtual machines, data availability layers, oracle networks, bridges, and other innovative solutions that can operate under the shared security model of Ethereum, enhanced by EigenLayer.
Tracks:
• Actively Validated Service (AVS) Track:
Focus on developing solutions that require their own distributed validation semantics for verification. This can include but is not limited to sidechains, data availability layers, new virtual machines, keeper networks, oracle networks, bridges, threshold cryptography schemes, and trusted execution environments.
• Restaking Track:
Create applications that leverage EigenLayer’s restaking capabilities to enhance security and operational efficiencies. This track focuses on utilizing restaking primitives to extend the security model of Ethereum.
• Rollup Data Availability (DA) Track:
Develop solutions that improve data availability for rollups, ensuring seamless operation and scalability. This track aims to integrate Movement Labs' technology stack with EigenLayer’s data availability solutions, such as EigenDA, to enhance Ethereum Layer 2 Rollups’ scalability and efficiency..
Technical Requirements
Submissions must integrate EigenLayer’s capabilities with Movement Labs’ technology stack, particularly the Movement SDK. Solutions should demonstrate how they utilize EigenLayer’s restaking and other functionalities to extend security and operational efficiencies within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Expected Outcomes
Projects should demonstrate practical applications in improving Ethereum’s scalability, security, or adding new functionalities. The solution should showcase how the integration of Movement Labs and EigenLayer technologies can lead to significant enhancements in blockchain infrastructure.
Judging Criteria
• Innovation: Originality of the application and its potential impact on the blockchain ecosystem.
• Integration Quality: Depth of integration with EigenLayer’s and Movement Labs' technologies, demonstrating enhanced functionality and user experience.
• Market Viability: Relevance of the application in addressing real-world needs and its potential for widespread adoption.

-
Build a unified UI or API that tracks and monitors EigenLayer operators’ AVS node performance.
Expected Outcome:
The solution should provide comprehensive insights into node performance metrics, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Key Features:
- Performance Metrics: Track uptime, response time, and node health.
- Real-Time Monitoring: Ensure up-to-date performance data.
- Historical Data: View and analyze past performance trends.
- Documentation: Provide clear user guides and API documentation.
Suggested Features:
- Alerts: Notify operators of performance issues or anomalies.
- Data Visualization: Use graphs and charts for easy data interpretation.
- Scalability: Handle an increasing number of nodes and data volume.
